The Audi Young Persons’ Choral Academy at the Audi Summer Concerts 2017

Ingolstadt, 16 July 2017

In the Audi Young Persons’ Choral Academy as in every choir, there is a permanent and insolvable tension between individual and community. Singing forms the heterogeneous group into a whole. Simone Rubino, an exceptional percussionist, faced the choir, or was incorporated into the group. Together, the artists performed a varied program, presenting all dimensions of percussion as well as the choir’s broad spectrum of colors and possibilities. Under the theme of “Time and Eternity”, the element of rhythm represented the passing time and transience, whereas timelessness was represented by sounds. The program comprised contemporary works, including a commissioned composition by Tobias PM Schneid, as well as the masterful works of Johann Sebastian Bach.
